Saved by Droog presentation in Poland

The first comprehensive presentation of Droog’s commitment to the use of unwanted material from the Nineties until today, saved by droog. is on view at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, Poland until January 15th, 2012. See photos here. 

Unprepared: Lessons from informal economy

Part of the ‘Here, there, everywhere’ series, with leading designer Bas Princen and in partnership with Studio-X Mumbai, the Droog Lab will engage with the informal economy in a two week workshop from November 6th – 20th in Mumbai. Luxury of the North

The Canadian North is simultaneously characterized by scarcity and abundance. In partnership with University of Alberta and media partner AZURE, Luxury of the North by Droog with Cynthia Hathaway, Winy Maas with Pirjo Haikoja (The Why Factory) and Christien Meindertsma explores how qualities of the North can inspire new urban luxuries and future city concepts. It will be presented at Gladstone Hotel in Toronto on November 30th with a dinner debate. More information.

Fantastical Investments

The outcome of Droog Lab’s study of consumption habits in Russia, imaginary brand Fantastical Investments was presented at Droog Amsterdam with a collection of nine products and a debate about the co-existence of fiction and survival in a new vision on luxury. Tom Dixon Tour of Asia in Manila

Tom Dixon recently completed a tour of Asia, a series of events took place in Bangkok, Beijing, Seoul and Manilla where Flash Factory was shown alongside our latest products. We also took part in Beijing Design Week for the first time as Tom was invited by the British Council to talk on the topic of design and How Not to Do in a series of public discussions.
